Orchestra Auditions

Since my post about orchestra auditions was so popular, I thought I’d make a heading about it, so people could find it easier…

Click Here to read my post about orchestra auditions for non-musicians.  It’s helpful to explain to your friends and family what you do, or perhaps, helpful to explain why you LEFT the audition circuit while you still had your wits about you.

Frankly I’m blown away by the number of page views I’ve gotten on the topic!  It’s more than tripled my blog traffic.  My worry is that only musicians are reading it and that they aren’t sharing it with non-musicians.  People love to read things that validate what they already know…

I followed up with a summary of what the life of an orchestral musician is like (well, in a nutshell).

Here’s a link to my essay on “Tone” that was published in the Mini Journal 2009 of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
